Brian Dusek is an Alaskan through and through, born and raised in Soldotna with the opportunity to travel across Alaska throughout his life. Currently double-majoring in Marketing and Communication Studies with a Minor in Political Science from Colorado State University, Brian’s Alaskan roots have guided him to an understanding of the importance of the Arctic’s natural resources and environmental importance.

While interning for U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski in the summer of 2017, Brian learned about the power Alaska's natural resources hold, and the international implications of the Arctic. His time in the Honors Program at Colorado State University has continuously illustrated the importance of sustainability, while his jobs and internships have strengthened his idea of community and communication.

While Brian hopes to one day work in political communications, public relations, or campaigns, he always wants to maintain a connection to his home state of Alaska. Brian is incredibly excited to be involved with conversations surrounding the significance of the Arctic, and he looks forward having the opportunity to intern for the Arctic Encounter.
